Christie & Kevin Tie The Knot @ The Secret Garden in Bisley Nature Reserve
With Christie and her fiancé Kevin living overseas in London – we stepped in to help with the theme, styling, colour palette, decor and flowers for their special day. Working closely with the features of the venue – we helped create the perfect mix of Rustic African bush loveliness with a vintage elegance. The flower choices were a mixture of pale pink roses, lisianthus, baby’s breath, and mixed fynbos foliage plus locally grown gorgeous proteas to keep with our African roots. We just LOVE the brides bouquet all pink and pretty!
Using the Secret Garden’s gorgeous chapel and tea garden we focussed on vintage country-styled decor with natural elements. Hessian & lace bows with proteas down the aisle and hanging bottles of baby’s breath, strips of ribbon and hearts filling the large open windows. In the tea garden hay bales with lovely lace covers (which Barbara – Christie’s mum made), cream bunting and hanging hearts and bottles from the trees. Plus our rusted shepherd hooks with mason jars filled with proteas lined the driveway for guests to pass.
The reception was held just down the road at The Boma which has modern, contemporary lines and structures with lovely open spaces and a succulent stone garden, large fire pit and wooden deck. We used hessian and lace runners, white shabby-chic flower boxes with mixed bottles. And for the main table (which was also round) cream and mint green ceramic pots. These were placed on wooden slices with rock roses and white stones. Plus just LOVE the favors of wild flower seeds in cute brown packets.
