Marius & Angie

Marius & Angie Tie The Knot – Saturday 24th August ’13 – Granny Mouse

It’s always a wonderful feeling to do a wedding for a friend and an even better feeling when it is a client who has become a friend. Angie and Marius currently reside in the UK and needed some help with putting together all the ideas they envisioned for their special day which was to be celebrated here in South Africa. Both wanted a natural and whimsical wedding day filled with beauty and elegance. Marius being Norweigan wanted elements of his home country so there were touches of birch trees and birch bark. Angela loved pastel coloured country flowers, scented sweet peas and cream freesias in mis-matched bottles. The end result was a gorgeous wedding filled with country charm, quaint elegance and natural beauty. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Angie & Marius through our wedding preparations and skype calls – and wish them all the best as they start their journey together…

We provided all the decor and flowers starting with the chapel. Simple pew arrangements of  dendrobium orchids, fressias and wax flowers tied with navy blue ribbon. A gorgeous vase filled with more dendrobiums and gladioli at the front of the chapel. And not forgetting the lovely flower curtain ties – creating an elegant and stunning finish.

Plus cute chalk hearts showed guests the way to the chapel….

Drinks, tea and cupcakes was then served by the pool deck area.

Plus two ladders held fun pictures of the bride & groom. Guests were asked to take a polaroid picture of themselves and attach it to the ladder photo montage. A great idea!

For the reception area – we used whimsical bunches of mixed pastel flowers in clear and dark bottles. These were placed on birch tree cut pieces. Off-white linen for the table cloths and napkins kept everything crisp and hesian and lace table runners. Keeping in the natural theme with bird name tags and birch wood napkin rings. Plus we love the table seating frame with each table being a prominent year for Angie & Marius.

And not forgetting our beautiful baby’s breath flower balls that were hanging from the ceiling….they took ages to make – but totally worth it!!

At the entrance to the reception was this stunning piece of wood engraved by Angie & Marius’s carpenter friend. The gorgeous laser cutting was incredible and the piece of wood doubled up to serve as somewhere for guests to write and leave their notes for the lovely bride and groom.

And then the lovely maids bouquets which were bunches of sweet baby’s breath and the brides bouquet which was a mix of gorgeous florals. And individual buttonholes for the bridal party…

Wishing Angie & Marius all the love in the world as they start their journey together….big hugs and kisses xoxoxo
