Natalie and Donovan tied the knot of Saturday 27th October 2012 at Du Boirs in Hillcrest. Although there was a little bit of rain and mist – this didn’t put a dampener on their special day. Natalie and Donovan had chosen a romantic parisian vintage theme for their wedding and both the reception and ceremony looked elegant and simply stunning. Key colors were dusty pink in light and smokey darker shades and dove grey. We assisted with some vintage decor items and set-up and styling. Flowers done by the talented Sandy at Flora Flowers.
First let’s start with our favourite feature – the tiered cake of cheese with the cute little wooden mice – so lovely. We helped with the decorating of this key ‘talking piece’ of their wedding and think it turned out great! Wooden crates with some vanity cases and bags filled up the ‘cheese cake’ table to give a rustic vintage feel.
A blank wall was filled with a stack of mis-matched suitcases in various colors of navy blue, light brown and pale green. We just love the authenticity of these with their rusted clasp and buckles and peeling cruise liner stamps. We also love our peach vintage scale with a simple stack of books and ribbon.
The tables were a mix of striped and embroidered cloths in earthy hues – some with birdcages and others with candelabras. The flowers were an abundance of roses and some proteas in shades of pinks and creams.
We provided our favourite french pink chair with matching foot stool to provide additional decor near the sweets table plus we just love the beautiful roses under a bell jar.
Our sea green typewriter just provided a quirky vintage element to the sweets table. We also love the paper pin wheels as additional decor.
The table seating cards were simple yet elegant with vintage design and feel plus we love the napkin detail tied with lace. The sweetie bags with their stripes and ribbon are just darling. The tables were named after well-know french streets and places – a great idea completing their theme perfectly.
Even the ladies bathroom got a little brightening with some vintage hat boxes and pink love birds with pearls. Overall the romantic parisian theme was fulfilled perfectly creating an atmosphere of love, elegance and glamour. It was a truly beautiful occasion and we wish Natalie and Donovan all the best with love, laughter and happiness for the future. x
