Dayne & Michelle – Sunningdale Family Farm, Lions River – 05th April 2014
A wedding on a farm always involves lots of behind the scenes work and I was really pleased to help Dayne and Michelle with the planning of their special day. They wanted to use the old converted stables in their backyard for their special day and the ceremony took place at the breathtakingly beautiful chapel of Michaelhouse school. The colors chosen were muted earthy tones of cream, white, beige, caramel and chocolate brown with a hint of light pink and apricot. The theme of the our day was a relaxed and informal country farm wedding with lots of elegance, candlelight, fairy lights and hay bales.
For the chapel we created two gorgeous arrangements with white gladioli and other mixed white flowers in large vintage country jugs on wrought-iron flower stands. Small arrangements of roses and baby’s breath down the aisle and cute little flower girls!! I just love the head wreaths we made for them – they are just too cute! And the brides bouquets and maids bouquets – worked perfectly with their gorgeous beige wrap-around dresses.
For the reception decor we used a mixture of white, cream, beige and white colors with lots of hesian and lace and gold and crystal accents. Hesian and lace runners, cutlery pockets and mixed votives of metallic grey and ruby and glittering gold. Crystal-cut hurricane vases for candles and white table numbers and little stacks of books tied with lace. Guest favors were cute thyme to pot at home for the girls and the boys got a hangover kit wrapped in brown cardboard boxes. Gorgeous vintage crockery and elegant wine and champagne glasses and cute grey wine coolers for white wine and red wine on the tables.
The reception was a huge success with wonderful speeches and lots of laughter and merriment had by all. The food was done by Afton Group Caterers (La Piazza) and was amazing – guests were treated to lamb shank with mixed roasted vegetables and for dessert an incredible dessert buffet of deliciousness. The lemon cake with lemon curd icing was also made by them. Overall it was a another beautiful day in the midlands and another beautiful wedding – unique and different to any other and full of love. Wishing Michelle & Dayne the start of an incredible life journey together filled with love as Mr. and Mrs. Smith!
