Garth & Nicola

Garth & Nicola Tie The Knot – 3rd May 2014 – Colbourne Farm – Karkloof

We were really pleased to help a local couple and family with their wedding held on their family farm in the Karkloof Midlands. The weather gods seemed to be pleased and the days leading up to the wedding were gorgeous and sunny. Saturday was no different and we were treated to a stunning sunny yet cool autumn Day. We assisted with decor for hire, flowers for the wedding as well as styling the set-up to ensure everything was just right and beautifully placed!

Nicky & Garth wished to spend their special day on Nicky’s family farm – the place that she grew up and felt most at home. A large white marquee was erected for the reception to ensure guest were kept warm and safe in case of any dramatic changes to the weather.

The ceremony took place under a huge oak tree and Nicky and her friends and family had made a beautiful wooden alter and arch using recycled wood. Hay bales with covers provided seating for the guests and tree stumps lined the aisle with small floral arrangements in white jugs.

Guests were treated to cupcakes, canapés and drinks on the gorgeous sprawling lawns of  the house. We just loved all the cute rustic wooden signs and framed stationery used around the venue plus all the quaint farm equipment including farm buckets, milk pails and watering can that were on hand.

Flowers chosen were a mix of lovely foliage from their gardens, hydrangeas and proteas from friends and family and a mix of pink  and white flowers and fynbos varieties. Guest tables used wooden ‘tool box’ containers with mixed bottles, tins with lace and floating candles in mason jars. And we just love the brides bouquet – a gorgeous mix of pink variety florals….

It was just a gorgeous wedding with lovely family and friends and we wish Nicky and Bongo all the best as they start their journey together as Mr. and Mrs Oliver.
